- In 1930, Peter and his wife Anna went on a three month trip to the West coast with Daughter Louise and husband Dr PA Krome.
It was a great trip that took them to Yellowstone Park, Glacier National Park the west coast and on to California.
PA Krome and Louise's two sons (Phillip and Alfred) stayed with Palmer and Dora Christianson (Uncle and Aunt) during the three months.
Vernie (Peter and Anna's) youngest daughter took over the farm house and made the meals for Melvin, Louis and Elmer. Vernie was 17 at the time.

This land grant is dated for approval December 20, 1875. Application would have been five years earlier in 1870. The Grantee had five years to complete land improvements before officially granted the deed. NOTE: President U. S. Grant signed the Deed. |

This is a 100 year old picture of threshing on the Pete Christianson Farm in 1910. The boy on the canopy is William Christianson. Walt Enger on the Engine with oil can. Hans Enger at the throttle. There would be threshing crews made up of farmers in the area that would go from farm to farm at harvest time. The wives would cook prepare lunch (two times a day) and dinner at noon. Food was excellent. |
